Yes it’s annoying. Luckily I run sshd on tcp 443 and using PuTTY’s proxy settings that has got me around all firewall issues at RMIT. Though lately I’ve started to notice problems with doing this with proxy.rmit.edu.au. I get some sort of temporary redirect error. I guess I’ll have to track down what proxy the real proxy if it’s changed. It’s a sad day when it gets to the point that universities think that the Internet == www.
